About GNUmatic
GNUmatic is a tribute to Project GNU,
an effort to create a free Operating System compatible to UNIX, headed by
Richard Stallman.
GNUmatic also happens to be the domain name I've choosen for my private
machine which runs all the wonderful
GNU software.
Most of the software allows you to automate many boring tasks, hence the
combination reflected in the name - GNU software based automation.
About the Web pages
I hack the pages with GNU emacs,
Galeon proved to be useful as a
testing aid for the markup and Gimp
surely is hard to beat if it comes to graphics. Various other bits and
pieces helped as well - I wouldn't know what to do without the many
useful tools on my system.
I didn't have anything worthwile to put on the Web for a long time
and only created Web pages for others so far but that changed now
that I've started with underwater photography. Reason enough to
fill the space I got on the server with some content.
This project is in the early stages of development and the task
runs at a pretty low priority, so don't expect too much. However,
there are a few things I have in mind, so perhaps something
useful will come out of it one day. We will see.
Meanwhile - have fun browsing the few pages! |
